coaching2The mission is to sharpen the focus on key areas of an athlete’s performance to create an environment for reflection, critical analysis, and continued development, there we find the shadows and weaknesses to work on. I tune into 3 big areas: technique and movement, strategic and tactical prowess, and implementation. For me, this encompasses every aspect of a sailboat race (from running the mainsail up to crossing the finish line).

Special attention to weather and sea-state forecasting, boat kit tuning and set up, race tactics, personal goal setting,  data collection and analysis; I am committed to giving my all to athletes willing to do the same.

Excellence is an art won by training and habituation. We do not act rightly because we have virtue or excellence, but we rather have those because we have acted rightly. We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit.” Aristotle

Philip Muller is a professional sailing coach from South Florida.

Every lesson, every opportunity, everything good in my life I owe to sailing. As both a competitor and a coach I have adopted and adapted the methods of world class coaches and Olympic athletes. During my career, I have crafted my own style of data-collection, technical analysis, and curriculum development to carve a path for sailors to succeed in the sport.

I love teaching & I love coaching, as both a ground-zero learn to sail and a top-level coach I work with sailors from every stage in the sport to reach their dreams. My experience ranges throughout the Optimist, Laser, c420, Windsurf, Kitesurf, Foiling, & 29er classes. I coach many athletes who have stood on the podium at numerous ISAF, ILCA, ISSA, T293 & USODA Fleet & Team Racing events.

The important thing is to have fun and to keep learning. I believe that a passion for sailing and respect for competition creates a love and appreciation for sport and for the water.

Philosophy- Dedication, Perseverance, Passion & Love for the Sport.
